In large parts of the city parking is by payment and/or permit for local residents.Spaces where parking is by payment or permit are easily identified by road surface markings (coloured lines) and road signs detailing the parking modalities.

Yellow lines

Parking within the yellow lines is reserved for local residents, whose automobiles display a sticker issued by the municipal administration.

Please pay close attention to the parking hours and modalities indicated on the parking
signs.


Blue lines

Parking within the blue lines is subject to payment of an hourly fee. As of January 7, 2014 the following fees apply, approved by Municipal Council Resolution n. 31 of 23 July 2013:

1) AREA C: Historic city centre Bastioni:
Parking fees apply every day (including holidays and festivities), from 8.00 to 24.00 as
follows:

Daytime rates 8.00 to 19.00
2,00 €/h for the first two hours
3,00 €/h for each subsequent hour

Evening rates from 19.00 to 24.00
2,00 €/h for the first two hours; free for each subsequent hour

2) CERCHIA FILOVIARIA (the area bounded by the 90 – 91 trolley lines):

Parking fees apply as follows:

Filoviaria
Hourly weekday rates from 8.00 to 19.00: 1.20 €/h

Filoviaria-Commercial areas
Weekday hourly rates + December holidays from 8.00 to 19.00: 1.20 €/h

Filoviaria- Hospitals
Weekday and holiday hourly rates from 8.00 to 19.00: 1.20 €/h

Filoviaria- Critical Areas
Weekday and holiday hourly rates from 8.00 to 24.00:1.20 €/h

3) CERCHIA EXTRA FILOVIARIA (areas outside the 90 – 91 trolley line):

Parking fees apply Monday to Friday (excluding holidays and festivities) from 8.00 to
13.00 at an hourly rate of 0.80 €/h, except on streets included in the Gallaratese 34 Parking
Zone near the San Siro Parking Zone, where the following rates apply:

Extra Filoviaria- Parking Zone 34 San Siro
Monday to Friday (excluding holidays and festivities) from 8.00 to 13.00: 0.80 €/h;
Rates during weekday events from 8.00 to 24.00: 0.80 €/h;
Rates during weekend and holiday events from 12.00 to 24.00: 0.80 €/h

Bicocca Area
Weekdays from 8.00 to 19.00: 1.20 €/h (only through parking meters) Starting in January 2014, parking is also allowed within the Cerchia Extra Filoviaria via a monthly parking pass that costs 40,00 €/month and which is valid for a single Parking Zone only. The monthly passes can be purchased from any ATM sales point. Any areas in which different rates or hours apply are always identified as such by parking signs.

4) SAN SIRO PARKING ZONES

During sporting or other events at the Meazza Stadium and/or the Hippodrome, parking is regulated as follows:

San Siro Parking Zone 
Parking rates during sporting or other events at the Meazza Stadium and /or the Hippodrome from 12.00 to 24.00: 1.20 €/h or 7.00 € flat daily rate.

San Siro- Piazzale dello Sport Parking Zones
Hourly rates every day except during sporting or other events from 0.00 to 24.00:1.20 €/h

5) HOSPITAL AREAS

In hospital area in the Cerchia Extra Filoviaria, parking is regulated as follows:

San Carlo Hospital
Everyday hourly rates from 8.00 to 19.00: 0.80 €/h; during events at San Siro from 19.00
to 24.00: 1.20 €/h or 7.00 € flat daily rate

San Paolo Hospital, Istituto dei Tumori, Niguarda Hospital
Everyday hourly rates from 8.00 to 19.00: 0.80 €/h
Parking is always free of charge for the following:
Vehicles displaying a local resident parking sticker (only if explicitly indicated on the
parking signs);
Vehicles displaying a disabled parking permit;
Law enforcement vehicles;
Vehicles for which specific waivers apply and which display the relevant permit. 

Proof of payment must be provided by displaying, in a visible position inside the vehicle, the parking scratch cards or electronic parking cards available at authorized retailers, and where applicable, the parking meter receipt.
Criteria used to determine parking hours and fees and waivers to parking restrictions can vary from one parking zone to the next, and are always detailed on the parking signs.
